Meeting Minutes, September 6, 2011, 6-7:30 PM at Lake Mills City Hall

  1. Call Meeting to Order:  Chairman Mike Juszczak called the meeting to order

 

  1. Notice:  Meeting Notice posted at: Town Hall, the north End Boat Launch, the cul-de-sac on Finch Bros. Road, the the Town’s website (www.townoflakemills.org) on September 1, 2011

 

  1. Roll Call:  Committee members present:  Mike Juszczak, Melissa Fehrman, Stan Smoniewski, Glenn Zastrow and Bob Wardall.  Others Present:  Patricia Cicero, Jefferson County Land and Water Resource Conservationist; Hope Oostdik, Chairman, Lake Mills Town Board; Carl Glassford, Rock Lake Improvement Association,

 

  1. Adoption of Agenda:  The agenda was approved; Bob moved and Stan seconded.

 

  1. Approval of Minutes:  The minutes for August were approved; Stan moved and Glenn seconded.

 

  1. Reports:
  2. City:  None; no City representative present.
  3. Town: None (please see comments below under Old Business, item 7b)

 

  1. Old Business:
  2. Review of City’s zoning ordinance working session on 7/19/2011 (The City will likely revisit the issue late in 2011 or early  in 2012):  The City tabled further discussion of the Ordinance until all listening sessions have been completed.  The last session, “Residential” will probably be held in Jan/Feb 2012. 

 

  1. Discuss 6/17/2011 plane landing on Rock Lake (Hope and Robin’s response):  Hope advised that the protocol for reporting a plane landing on Rock Lake is to call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s office: they will dispatch a deputy as appropriate. 

 

 

  1. New Business:
  2. Discuss RLIA representative attending JRLC meeting to review the Rock Lake Management Plan progress:  Andy Petraszak of RLIA has a spreadsheet record progress updates for each of the 47 tasks, 1 page for each task, in the Rock Lake Management Plan.

 

  1. Discuss chloride testing to be done this Fall:  Patricia reported that she will be doing the testing soon.  After checking to assure the lake has ‘turned’, the Fall sample will be taken.

 

  1. Correspondence and additional public Comments and Questions: Patricia reported that Jefferson County Shoreland Zoning will be tabled since the State has extended the deadline two years to 2014.

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Adjournment:  The meeting was adjourned.  Glenn moved and Melissa seconded.
