February 12, 2008 Town Board Minutes

Town of Lake Mills
February 12, 2008

Meeting was called to order by Chairperson Heinz. All members were
present. Motion made by Supervisor Schroeder to adopt the agenda,
seconded by Supervisor Berns. Carried. Motion made by Supervisor Berns
to approve the minutes of the January monthly meeting, seconded by
Supervisor Schroeder. Carried. Motion made by Supervisor Schroeder to
approve the Treasurer’s Report, seconded of $55,399.77, seconded by
Supervisor Schroeder. Carried.
The Police Report was read by the town clerk, Robin Untz. Period of
Comment:  Resident Walter Cnare, who happens to be a mail carrier,
discussed areas on town roads where salt/sand mix could improve the
conditions. Jason Forest attended the meeting to answer any questions
regarding the snowplowing and requested that mailboxes be dug out and
marked with something reflective or an orange flag or something. The
mailboxes cannot be seen in the large piles of snow and may
unintentionally damaged during the snow removal process.  Chairperson
Heinz also mentioned that residents need to dig out their firesigns so
that they are visible for emergency purposes.  
    Motion made by Supervisor Schroeder to table the discussion of the
drainage on Park Lane, seconded by Supervisor Berns. Carried.  
     No action taken on the discussion of Mike Orcutt’s resignation from
the Joint Rock Lake Committee, Chairperson Heinz thanked him for his
years of service on the Committee.
    Correspondence: Mary Price had concerns regarding the price of sewer
service and the volume of the sewer going through the existing system
and what could be done to improve the system.
Chairperson Heinz reported that the town’s salt storage location at
Forest Landscaping will be inspected which is common practice, and
that the impact fees laws have recently changed again.
    Motion made by Supervisor Schroeder to adjourn, seconded by
Supervisor Berns. Carried.
    These minutes are unapproved.  Any corrections made thereto will be
noted in the proceedings of the next meeting in which they are
approved.
