June 3, 2008 Joint Rock Lake Committee

Meeting Minutes, Tuesday June 3rd, 2008, 6-7:55pm at Lake Mills City
Hall
Chairperson Glenn Zastrow called the meeting to order at 6:05p.m.

Board Members Present: Melissa Fehrman, Bob Wardall, Glenn Zastrow,
and Stan Smoniewski.
Others Present: 32 Township residents, and Patricia L. Cicero, Water
Resources Management Specialist for Jefferson County for the last
half.

The agenda was accepted. Stan motioned and Melissa seconded.  The
minutes for May were approved, Melissa motioned and Glenn seconded.
Notice of the meeting was published in the Lake Mills Leader.


Town and City Report: none

Old Business:

A)    Discussion of proposed amendments to town ordinance 5-6
Regulations for the Placement of Piers, Wharves Swimming Rafts,
Inflatables, and Mooring Buoys in the Waters of Rock Lake:  The
meeting was dominated by discussion of the proposed pier ordinance. 
As the Committee slowly moved through the ordinance, questions and
discussion arose from the public and the Committee.  We reviewed about
2/3 of the ordinance.

B)     Long Range Plan for Rock Lake (LRP): Please refer to the
management plan to read the detail associated with the priority: 
19) Glenn has secured the used containers to store pamphlets.  We
will mount them at the boat launches.
26,29,33,39,43 will be discussed at a later meeting.

C)    Committee Webpage within Town Website: not discussed.



New Business: 

Discussion of Pontoon Ride to review status of Rock Lake: not
discussed.

Correspondence and Period of additional Public Comment: none
Adjournment: Stan moved to adjourn, 2nd by Bob.  Most of the
Committee was going to the Town Hall to continue discussion of the
proposed pier ordinance with the Town Planning Committee.
